Additional Comments:
The place of birth for his parents was not what was entered on the document. His 
mother was born in or near Covington, Newton County, Georgia per pension 
application as widow of Confederate soldier. His father, Tillman Simmons, was 
born in Chambers County, Alabama. The family of Tillman had moved to Chambers 
from Harris County, Georgia in about 1843 and were living there until 1856.
No date for birth is given on the record but he was born April 2nd 1869
