The Georgia Enterprise, September 12, 1889
Mr. J. T. Marks, of Newton County (Georgia), was married to Miss Minerva 
Thornton, of Opelika, Ala., on Sept. 5th. The groom is one of our best young 
men and a successful farmer; while the lovely bride is one of Opelika’s most 
cultured ladies. May their lives be long and happy together. Mr. C. F. Adams, 
of Covington, was at the marriage and just did escape single.
