23 Mar 1944  The Alabama Courier
 Funeral services for William James Patterson, were held at Salem church, on 
Monday, March 20, with Rev. J.W. Brooks officiating. Interment was in New 
Garden Cemetery, McConnell directing.
 Mr. Patterson was born in Limestone county, September 19, 1872,  died March 
19, 1944 making him 71 years of age. He was wedded to Ruth Lee Gill in 1900. 
Mr. Patterson was an active member of Salem church, where he had been a member 
since 1928.
 He is survived by his wife, one brother, Raymond Patterson; and a number of 
nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Donald Gill, Robere Gill, Nellie Gill, 
Alton Powers, Ross Patterson, and Douglas Patterson.
