15 Nov 1945  The Alabama Courier
 James H. Patterson, 65, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nell Sherrill, 
on Athens route 1, Sunday, November 11, and funeral services were conducted 
Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Salem Methodist Church by Rev. Price. 
Interment was in Salem cemetery, McConnell directing.
 Mr. Patterson is survived by 1 daughter, Athens route one, one son, Crutcher, 
of the U.S. Army, stationed in the Pacific; two sisters, Mesdames W.A. Strange 
and Dempse Pugh; and six grandchildren.
 Pallbearers were Jerry and Audie Christopher, Elbert Page, Marvin Phillips, 
Aubrey Todd and Bob Thomas.
