The News Courier
 James C. Stanford, Sr. 63, of Route 5, Athens, Alabama, Faemer, died at this 
home at 3:45 a.m. today, after an illness of more than a year. 
 Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Mount Carmel 
Church of Christ, with Tonis C. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Leggtown 
Cemetery; Spry Funeral Home directing.
 Mr. Stanford was a Member of Mount Carmel Church. Survivors include his 
widow, Mrs. Ethel Stanford; one son, James C. Stanford, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio; 
two daughters, Mrs. Hubert Garner, Route 5, and Mrs. Guy Carter, Athens; seven 
grandchildren; a brother, Ed Stanford, Hanceville; one sister, Mrs. Pearl 
McCormick, Decatur.
 Hephews will be pall bearers.
