Robert Donnell who was born April _ A.D. 1784 Departed this life at Athens, Ala. on thursday the 24th of May 1855 at 4:00 1/2 A.M. in his 72-year. My Father, My Father The chariot of Israel and the horesemen thereof This is a tall monument in the Donnell family plot which is enclosed in an iron fence, west of Gate 1. All 4 sides of the monument are engraved: the southside states: A native of Guilford Co. NC,of Scotch descent and Presbyterian education, emigrated to Wilson Co. Tenn in 1793 where he was converted in 1800 and joined the church. In March 1810 at Ridge church he was received a candidate for the ministry by Cumberland Presbytery at the first meeting after its reorganization and was ordained by the same in Oct. 1811.
