Chapman Williams died Dec 20 1898 Age 28 yrs 1 mo. 12 days Norah S, Wells died Apr 11, 19?? Additional Comments: This Bible was my Great Grandfathers: Rev. John Lafayette Williams it was presented to him in December as a gift from Mrs. Cleary and friends from McRae GA. It is beautifully written with information some in an aquamarine blue ink, it appears the same person wrote the information until after Rev. John L. Williams death in 1888. Appears to have been written by only two others. The last death recorded was Norah S. Wells and my grandmother Luna A. Peters in 1927. This Bible was given to me when my Aunt Rachel Ann Williams Fairbanks died in 1995. It has now been given to my brother, Mr. Jeffrey Alexander Williams. This Bible is in excellent condition with the outside cloth worn but still has the gold edging on the pages. It is printed HOLY BIBLE on the front and back cover. A large bible 9" X 12". Illustraed with copper plated maps, and engravings Including pronouncing dictionary of Scripture proper names, An interpreting dictionary of Scripture proper names, Tables of Scripture Measures, Weights, and coins, with full explanations, a dictionary of Religious Denominations, Sect, Parties, and Associations in the Workd, A history of the Bible, and family record. This is a Theological Seminary Bible. The records are written as they appear. Rev. John L. Williams was born in Mont/Pike Co. Al. 1832 d. in Hazelhurst GA 1888. Both Rachel Ann Manning Williams and Rev. John L. Williams are buried in the Hazlehurst GA City Cemetery both with marked graves along with son Robert Clary Williams, Lillan B. Williams small grave marked baby daughter(this child was dau of first wife Isabella H. Brewton), Rena Earl Williams Hinson, Martha Lee Cromartie and her husband John Alexander Cromartie. All the graves are marked Rev. John L. Williams CSA, Mason. Was married 1. Isabella H. Brewton (4) children; 2. Rachel Ann Manning dau of Shadrack Manning Glynn/Waynn Co. GA. 9 children.
