Hardy Vickers WOOTEN, was a prominent doctor in the Lowndesboro area of 
Alabama. His wife Charlotte ROCHELLE, daughter of George Evans ROCHELLE and 
Elizabeth WHITAKER, born in Fairfield Co., S.C. The Rochelle family migrated to 
Ala. After 1830.
According to "Lowndesboro's Picturesque Legacies" Rosewood was built in 1855 by 
Dr. Hardy Vickers WOOTEN.
