This family burial ground is at the John McQueen Place which was bought from the U.S. in 1818 and consisted of 1800 acres. it is now known as "Queensdale" and Harris McQueen lives there. It is 15 miles west of Montgomery on the Selma Highway, No. 80. Besides these marked graves there are about 20 unmarked graves. Some slaves are buried there, too. Sacred to the memory of Louisa McQueen who was born Nov. 19th 1833 and died Sept.20th 1834. In memory of Margaret A. J., daughter of John and Martha McQueen who was born May 10th 1848 and died Aug.23rd 1851. In memory of Martha, consort of John McQueen Jr, who was born Oct.29th 1811 and died Oct.3rd 1851 having been a member of the Baptist Church for 18 years (Bible quotation). Sacred to the memory of John McQueen Jr. who was born Aug.30th 1800 and died June 24th 1859 - Aged 58 years 10 months and 3 days. He died in Jesus and is blessed How sweet his slumbers are From suffering and from pain released And freed from every pain He now sleeps in quiet repose Free from the toils of a well spent life, And his spirit is gone to the realms Where saints and angels dwell. Sacred to the memory of Benjamin F. McQueen Born Oct.5th 1839 Died July 18th 1878. In Memory of Margaret Ella, daughter of J. C. and Harriette McQueen who was born July 30th 1851 and died May 29th 1852 (verse). [Note: I do not have the Bible verse or the verse referred to]
