He is buried in the Mt. Willing Cemetery there. His wife was called 'Polly.' We printed a copy and then filled in from the microfilm itself. The top part of the pages lists parcels of land that belonged to John. The heirs of Solomon Adams - Mahala Hale Barlow, Margarett Day, John Adams dead and left Solomon, Charles, Stephen, and John Henry. (James Ansley inserted). Jane Adams, dead, left Simon. A.J. Adams, Elizabeth Hawkins, Martha Hawkins, Ann Manning, Mary Manning, Phebe Jones Lavinia Adams, dead, and left Eliza, Basil (?), John, William, Nancy Caroline, Elizabeth, Julia Ann. Sarah Hawkins, dead, and left Vincent and Rebecca and William and Mary (dead). Unknown to me as to whether they left heirs or not. Repsa Ann left John, Ellen Rebecca, and Simon. Haggman. as Witnesses in a case pending in our Probate Court of Lowndes County, wherein Solomon Adams is plff in application to sell land and Charles Adams, John Adams, and James are defends. on oath, to be by you administered upon Interrogatories annexed to this Commision, to take and certify the Deposition of the Witness, and return the same to our said Court, with all conventient speed, under you hand and seal. Judge of Probate of said County- The undersigned would respectfully show that he has been (duly) appointed adm., de ____ _____, with the will _____of John Adams late of this county decd.--would further show, that said decedent executed his last will and testament, which has been admitted to probate and record, in your Honorable Court. The 12th item of said will provides that after the death of Polly Adams, the widow and relict of said testator and the payment of all his just debts, that balance of his property both real and personal shall be sold for division among all his lawful heirs. Further show that Mrs. Polly Adams has departed this life--and therefore under the provisions of his will, he desires to sell said property for division among all the heirs and legatees of said estate. The real and personal property as follows, the lawn and plantation on which said decedent resides in his lifetime, designated as follows-viz The S1/2 of sec 31.-the W 1/2 pf of NE 1/10 31. The W 1/2 of NW 1/4 and SE 1/2 of NW 1/2 (rest of description hard to read) and the following named slaves--viz Molly, Moise (these are of little or no value) Lewis, Sally, Alnim (?), little Lewis, Andeman, Lane, Harriett, Louisa, Jinsy, Randal, Aggy, and Allen--together with the perishable property.
