Steele of the same State & County his heirs or assigns the following described lot or piece of land Viz the S. E. ¼ of the S. W. ¼ of Sec. 28 Township 12 Range 15 being in Lowndes county ala containing forty acres more or less together with all the apertainances there unto belonging. The title where of we bind our selves our heirs or assigns to defend unto said Joseph A. Steele his heirs or assigns for ever. Burt Attachment: THE STATE OF ALABAMA--- LOWNDES COUNTY I Edward H. Cook, Judge of Probate of said county, hereby certify that J. D. Burt a subscribing witness to the foregoing conveyance, known to me, appeared before me this day, and being sworn, stated that William Forest & Mary A. Forrest the grantors in the conveyance, voluntarily executed the same in his presence, and in the presence of the other subscribing witness, on the day the same bears date; that he attested the same in the presence of the grantors and of the other witness, and that such other witness subscribed his name as a witness in his presence.
