Rencher admin of the Estate of Wm H. Gomes dest of the first part and Samuel Johnson & Georgh Adams & F. Centerfit of the second part Witrespeth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of four hundred and ninty three Dollars & fifty cts Lawful money of the United States to me in hand paid has sold and by these presents does grant and convey to the said party of the second part a certain house and lot Known as Lot NO. 1 on Lot four in Block 19 of Rogers survey of the Town of Fort Deposit. This Grant is intended as a security for the payment of Four Hundred and Ninty Three Dollars & fifty cents on the Third day December 1867- which payment if duly made will Render this conveyance void and if default shall be made in payment of the principle above mentioned then the said party of the first part and his assigns are hereby authorized to sell the lot above granted to satisfy the amt. Then sell with the costs and Expence Allowed by Law within thirity days after the 3rd day of Dec 1866. Given under my hand and seal this 3rd Dec 1866. Samuel Johnson G. W. Adams Fletcher Centerfit $493.50 Twelve Months after date we the subscribers of Lowndes County Alabama Promise to pay to James H. Rencher Adm of the Estate Wm H. Gomes Dest. tHe sum of Four Hundred & Nintey Three & 50/100 Dollars Balance payment on a certain stone house and Lott in the Town of Fort Deposit This the 3rd day of Decemder A. D. 1866.
