Stone's monument in the Stone Cemetery Lowndes County, AL George B. Stone was the son of Barton Warren and Caroline Walton Stone. He was born March 29, 1837 and died at Seven Pines, Virginia during the Civil War on June 9, 1862. It is doubtful that he is actually buried in the Stone Cemetery, but in Virginia. This is most likely a memorial for his family to visit. Dated 1863 and from Nix Young & Nix: 1 Monument for George B.
