Cutts JUNE 1999 A copy of the original letter was shared with me John M. Magee, Sr., a descendant. John M.Magee wrote: "Jane Adams wrote John Zachary (her son) a letter on 12/22/1874, asking him to come to AL and move her to Kosse. I have the original letter. She came to Kosse in 1875. She is buried in the Eutaw Cemetery on the left side of John Z." Below is a transcription of the letter: December 22, 1874 John dear son I received your letter a few days ago I was glad to hear from you and to hear that you were all well and doing This leaves me up but not well I have been porly for some time with my had coald and caugh I hope these few lines may reach you in due time and find you all well and doing well John you said in your letter if I would go to Texas you would come after me if you will come I will go Mary you never heard the like of marieys in your life Betty haygood Mr frane(?) maried last wednesday and Nedy Norris and Josapheus walton maried last thursday and holaway whitle and docia Barganier maries next thursday night I cant name them all they are maring all over lowndes and Butler Co and every wher else I can hear of Bethel family are all up but not well they all have very bad colds Martha says she will write before long nothing more at present I remain your mother untill death J Jane Adams N B I received your pictures I was glad to see them they look very nachural Alice is very proud of Jose picture she is very anxious to get the baby picture
