The partculars of the killing recieved here are but meagre, but from all accounts the shooting occurred at the store of George Wheeler, between Farmersville and Bragg's store in Lowndes COunty. Mr. waldrop was a share cropper with the Wheeler Brothers and went to the store Saturday for the purpose of having a settlement. In figuring out the amounts due a dispute arose and Jim Wheeler is said to have shot Waldrop, killing him instantly. Calvin Harris was in the store at the time, and besides George Wheeler was the only eye-witness to the affair. The Wheeler brothers state that when Waldrop fell that Harris reached out his hand to take a Winchester rifle that was lying on the counter, and that Jim Wheeler shot him, killing him also. Both of the dead men were married, Mr. Waldrop leaving two motherless children, who are now without either parent to care for them. Mr. Harris leaves a wife and five little ones, robbed of their natural protector by violent death.
