DAVIDSON, wife of Mr. George L. Davidson, in the 47th year of her age. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. Ross R. Simonton of Tyrrell County, N. Carlonia, but had been a resident of Lowndes County, Ala., since the year 1835. During the greater part of her life she enjoyed uninterrupted health, but her last two years were years of continued suffering. She bore her afflictions almost without a murmur, evincing a degree of resignation and Christian fortitude rarely found. She died as she had lived, exercising an abiding faith in the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She had long been a constant member of the Presbyterian church, was a humble and devoted Christian, and her declining moments express a strong desire that her children should be faithful followers of the meek and lowly Jesus. She has left in Ala., a husband, six children, and a numerous circle of relatives and friends to mourn her untimely loss - and in her native state, still living, an aged father, and other near relations lament her death. 'Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.' G."
