Hrabowski Lowndes County, Alabama Will Book B, pages 224 - 225 The State of Alabama Montgomery County I, Harriet R. Hrabowski, widow and relict of Thomas L. Hrabowski, Esquire, deceased, of Lowndes County, being weak in body, but of a sound disposing mind, do make, ordain, and declare the following to be my last will and testament. First: I direct my Executors to pay and discharge all my just debts. Second: the proceeds of the estate willed me for life by my deceased Husband, amounting to something, but how much I do not now know, & a demand due me as Executrix of his last will and testament of said Thos. L. Hrabowski as fixed and ascertained by the same or Judgment of the Orphans Court of Lowndes County in the settlement of my accounts in that Court as Executrix aforesaid, I will and bequeath to my two youngest children, to wit: Charles Hrabowski and Clara Hrabowski, but not to be possessed or paid to them or either of them until they arrive at the age of twenty one years, and then my Executor herein after named is to pay over the time to the said Charles and Clara in equal shares that is a monty (?) to each in the meantime viz. from my death until the said Charles and Clara arrive at the age of twenty one years. It is my will that my son-in-law F. N. Sims have the use and control of what may be so due me as aforesaid and without paying any interest on the same, but that he shall execute a mortgage on two slaves or some slaves to secure to said Charles and Clara when they do arrive at age, the payment of the principal so received by said F. N. Sims, without interest as aforesaid. 3rd: I appoint my son John Hrabowski and my son-in-law F. N. Sims Executors of this my will and require and direct that Letters Testamentary be granted to them without requiring any security for their administration of my estate under this will. 4th: I appoint my son-in-law F. N. Sims Guardian in chief of my two said children Chalres Hrabowski and Clara Hrabowski and that he have the care, management and control of their persons and that he direct their education and that no security be required of him by any court for the performance of his duty as aforesaid. 5th: I declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made as witness my hand and seal this 20th day of February, 1849. Marvin, Sen The State of Alabama Lowndes County Personally appeared in open court before me, Edward H. Cook, Judge of the county Court for Lowndes County and state aforesaid, Thomas William, Jr., one of the subscribing witnesses to the within will, who, being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, deposeth and saith that he was present and saw H. R. Hrabowski sign, seal, publish, and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as her last will and testament and that the said H. R. Hrabowski was at that time of sound disposing mind and memory and that he, the said Thos. Williams, Jr. did at the request of the said H. R. Hrabowski, deceased, in her life time, and in her presence, and at her request sign the said instrument of writing as a witness thereto and that he saw J. Marvin, Sr. the other subscribing witness sign the same at the request of the said H. R. Hrabowski and in her presence and in the presence of each other on the day and date therein mentioned.
