I Thomas Jones of the state and county aforesaid do hereby make my last will and testament in manner form following that is to say 1st I desire that my present crop shall be sold under the direction of my Executors hereinafter mentioned and out [of] the monies arising therefore all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. 2nd I give to my daughter Harriett Jones and the lawful heirs of her body one negro man named George, should she die without such heirs, then I give said negro man to be equally divided among my grand children. 3rd My town property in the town of Lowndesboro and 40 acres land adjoining said town To be sold immediately after my decease under direction of my executors and the net proceeds thereof to be equally divided among my several children viz. my daughters; Sarah Humphries, Martha Thompson, Harriett Jones, and my sons; Seaborn, Thomas Jones, Jun, which I give to them and their heirs forever. 4th I give to my son Seaborn Jones eight acres of land on the E. half of the SE quarter of section 25, township 15 of range 14 and ___ whereon said described land so as not to interfere with my yard or dwelling house during the natural life of my wife Mary Jones 5th I give to my son Thomas Jones eight acres of land for which he has a plat and deed, lying on the above described tract of land, 6th I give to my wife Mary Jones a negro girl named Ann in fee simple also I give to my wife Mary Jones and my daughter Harriett Jones the balance of the east half of SE quarter of section 25, Township 15 range 14 also the east half of the north west quarter of section 36, township 15 range 14. Also all of my personal estate after my just debts are paid not otherwise disposed of for and during the term of the natural life of the said Mary Jones, should the said Harriett Jones marry before the said Mary Jones then all her right and interest in said real and personal estate to be vested in the Mary Jones and after the decease of the Mary Jones I give to my son Seaborn Jones the above described lands and the lawful heirs of his body should he die without such heirs then I give to my son Thomas Jones Jun and the lawful heirs of his body, the personal estate at the decease of the said Mary Jones to be sold and equal division among my several children hereinbefore named which I give to them and the lawful heirs of their bodies forever. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my [sons] Seaborn Jones [and Thomas Jones] Jun my executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or testament, by me hereby made, in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal, this twenty third day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.
