This file was contributed and copyrighted by: Carolyn Golowka ================================================================================ August 2002 Will of Susan Buffington Lowndes Co., AL Will Book B, pages 338 – 339 State of Alabama } Know all men by these presents Lowndes County } that I, Susan Buffington, of Lowndes County and State of Alabama considering the uncertainty of this life and being of sound mind do make declare and publish this my last will and testament. 1st: That I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Elizabeth M. Buffington, forty acres of land known as being the forty acres of my present homestead and dwelling place at this time and two beds and furniture and two cows and calves and their increase to have and to hold during her natural life. 2nd; I give and bequeath to my son, Thomas P. Buffington, all the balance of my whole estate after paying the just and lawful debts may be against me at the time of my death and paying to each of the lawful heirs of my body one dollar each and after providing a support and comfort for my daughter E. M. Buffington, during her natural life out and from the benefits and profits of the portions bequeathed to my daughter, E. M. Buffington, and son Thomas P. Buffington to be controlled and managed by the said Thomas P. Buffington then at the death of my daughter, E. M. Buffington, if the aforesaid Thomas P. Buffington should be the longest lived then for him the said Thomas P. Buffington to inherit whatever part of her estate may be left at the time of her death provided she should die without an heir of her body. 4th: I do nominate and appoint my son, Thomas P. Buffington, to be the executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof, I hereunto sign my name and affix my seal this the 13th day of December 1855.
