I, Alfred Crawford, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner anf form following: I resign my soul unto the hands of the Almighty God, hoping and believing in a remission of my sins, by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ; and my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my children and friends, and my worldly estate I give and devise as follows: First, my will is that all my just debts shall be paid and to effect the same, I do authorize my Executors hereinafter named to dispose of any portion of my Estate for that purpose. Also, I give my son Charles A. Crawford the sum of Four Hundred Dollars to be paid to him, when a division of my Estate shall take place after my decease. Also, I give my son William H. Crawford the sum of Five Hundred Dollars to be paid to him when a division of my Estate shall take place after my decease. Also, I give to my son James D. Crawford the sum of Four Hundred Dollars to be paid to him when a division of my estate shall take place after my decease, and One Bed and Bedstead & furniture. Also, I give to my daughter Frances E. Crawford the sum of One Hundred Dollars to be paid to her when a division of my estate shall take place after my decease, and one bedstead and bed & furniture. Also, I give to my three daughters each Adrianna E., Florence A., and Laura L. Crawford one bed & bedstead & furniture when a division of my estate shall take place after my decease. Also, I give to my daughter Marryann M. Albritton, and her heirs after death, a ninth part of my estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give to my son Chas. A. Crawford, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give to my son William H. Crawford a ninth part of my Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give to my daughter Lucretia W. Salley, and her heirs after her death, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give to my son James D. Crawford, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give my daughter Frances E. Crawford, and her heirs after her death, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also I give to my daughter, Florence A. Crawford, and her heirs after her death, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, I give to my daughter, Laura L. Crawford, and her heirs after her death, a ninth part of my whole Estate not hereinbefore mentioned, when a division shall take place. Also, my will and desire is if any of my children named above should die not leaving lawful children, such share or legacy to return back and be equally divided among my surviving children. Also, my will is that after my decease all my Estate but the Slaves, be sold at public outcry to the highest bidder on credit of twelve months, and that the Slaves shall (be) equally divided within twelve months after my decease amongst my children named in the will. Also, and lastly, I do nominate and appoint my sons William H. Crawford and James D. Crasford Executors of this my Last Will and testament. In testimony whereof, I have set my hand and seal, the Twenty-sixth day of March in the year of our Lofd, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty-One. Graham, Judge of the Court of Probate for the County of Lowndes and State of Alabama, A. M. Simmons & M. F. Whatley, who, having been duly sworn by me, swears as follows: That they were present on the day the above paper writing bears date; that they were called upon by the said Alfred Crawford to witness the above paper writing as his Last Will and Testament. That the said Alfred Crawford signed the same on the day the same bears date in the presence of affiants & affiants signed the same as witnesses to same, in the presence of the said Alfred Crawford and in the presence of each other; that said Alfred Crawford was of sound mind at the time he signed said paper writing to the best of affiants knowledge and belief.
