I am part purchaser with Jesse Webb and Daniel Gordon of the tract of land known as the Major Francis Gordon place in such county, containing nine hundred acres the said land and my personal property being under mortgage to Geo. W. Stone, to secure the purchase money. We are also negotiation with Henry brown and John Webb to let them or someone else into said purchase, they or he to become purchaser of one fourth of said land. Now, that the said contract with Geo. W. Stone may be carried out in case of my death, I devise and bequeath all my lands and personal property equally to my wife, Eliza Webb, and her and my children and I appoint my wife Eliza Webb and my son John Webb to be Executrix and Executor of this will, and relieve them of giving bond as such. And I desire and direct my said Executor and Executrix to carry on the plantation and deliver the crops, until the debt to said Stone is paid and to this end, to obtain from him, mules, tools, plantation supplies, and all things necessary to make crops, the same to stand pledged to him for what I or my Estate may owe him, and my Executor, as such may mortgage the same to him, for the purpose of making the security more formal. In testimony whereof, I hereunto subscribe my name in presence of the subscribing witnesses. Dec. 29, 1885 his Abram X Webb Mark Witnesses: W. J. Garrett John Webb Before me, H. W. Caffey, Judge of the Probate Court for Lowndes County, Alabama, came W. J. Garrett, well known to me, who, being duly sworn deposes and says that he well knew Abram Webb for many years, and up to the time of his death, and that he was present at the time the paper was exhibited to him purporting to be the last Will and Testament of the said Abram Webb – was executed – that the said Abram Webb signed said instrument on the day it has date in his presence and in the presence of the other subscribing witness, to wit: Geo. W. Stone & John Webb as his last Will and Testament, and that affiant and the other subscribing witness signed said instrument as witnesses thereto in the presence of each other and in the presence of said Abram Webb, and at his request, affiant further deposes and says that in his judgment the said Abram Webb was at the time he signed said instrument, of sound mind and capable of making his last Will and Testament.
