Pharr Lowndes County Will Book C, page 4 In the Name of God, Amen. I, Harriett S. Pharr, being weak in body, of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my Last Will & Testament. First I direct hat my body be decently interred in a Christian-like manner, discretionary with my Executor hereinafter named. Next, I will and bequeath to my husband, Samuel K. Pharr, and his heirs, all interest I have in and title to the salves I now own, namely Wesley, Berry, Clara, Sylvia, and Missoura and her increase. And at the death of my mother, Mrs. Susannah Wilson, the old man Will and his wife, Caty. I also will to my husband, Samuel K. Pharr, my bedding and room furniture and one melodeon. I also will to my husband, Samuel K. Pharr, all interest in and portion of property that I would have received from my father, Hugh Wilson's Estate, at my mother, Susannah Wilson's, death, except the woman, Margaret, and the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). The woman I will to my sister, Elise L. Haynes and her heirs. Three hundred Dollars of the money named to be expended in the purchase of a set of silverware for my brother, Hugh R. Wilson (and) if he is not living, for his oldest child, consisting of the articles named: 1 tea pot, 1 sugar bowl, q pitcher, 2 dozen spoons (1 dozen table, 1 dozen tea), 2 dozen forks (1 dozen large, 1 dozen small), 2 ladles, 1 large and the other small, 1 sugar spoon, 1 pair tongs, 1 butter knife, two salt spoons. The remaining two hundred Dollars I wish used to purchase an iron railing to enclose the graves of myself and child. The property I will to my husband, Samuel K. Pharr and his heirs,. I wish him to enjoy fully and freely his life, and at his death, to be subject to his will, except the sum of $1500, Fifteen Hundred Dollars, that sum I wish paid to the Trustees of Columbia Theological Seminary, the interest to be used yearly in defraying the expenses of indigent, worthy young men who may attend the said seminary. In witness whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of October in the year of our Lord, One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-one. Signed in the presence of Harriett S. Pharr (L.S.) T. L. Deveaux W. O. Hobby H. R. Wilson State of Alabama } Lowndes County } Probate Court, April 15th, 1862 Before me, James W. Graham, Judge of said Court, personally appeared in open Court, Thomas L. DeVeaux who, having been by me first duly sworn and examined, did and does depose and say on oath that he is a subscribing witness to the instrument of writing now shown to him, and which purports to be the Last Will and Testament of Harriett S. Pharr, dec'd, late an inhabitant of this County; that said Harriett S. Pharr, since deceased, signed and executed said instrument on the day the same bears date, and declared the same to be her Last Will and Testament, and that affiant set his signature thereto on the day the same bears date, as a subscribing witness to the same, in the presence of Testator, and in the presence of the other subscribing witnesses on the day the same bears date, and that W. O. Hobby, & H. R. Wilson, the other subscribing witnesses, set their signatures to the ________ the day the same bears date, in the presence of the affiant and of said Testator, that said Testator was of sound mind and disposing memory, and in the opinion of deponent fully capable of making her Will at the time the same was so made as aforesaid. Affiant further states that said Testator was on the day of the same date of said Will of the full age of twenty- one years and upwards. Subscribed & sworn to before me this T. L.
