Haigler Lowndes County, Alabama Will Book 3, pages 183 - 185 The State of Alabama, Lowndes County I, John F. Haigler, of the County and State aforesaid, knowing the uncertainty of this life, and being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish, and declare this to by my Last Will and Testament as follows, to-wit: Item: It is my will that all my just debts be paid by my Executors, hereinafter named, out of the assets and monies of my Estate. Item: I give and bequeath to my brother, Josiah P. Haigler, the mule named 'Liza' now in his possession and I further release and discharge him from the payment of a promissory note for One Hundred Eighty dollars, executed by him payable to me, the particular date of which I do not now remember. Item: It is my will that the two notes held by me against my brother, Capus Haigler, and against my brother, Henry E. Haigler, the one against my brother, Capus, being for about five hundred dollars, and the one against my brother, Henry, being something over one hundred dollars, shall be released and discharged from collection or payment. Item: I give and bequeath to my brother, Josiah P. Haigler, the wardrobe now in my possession. Item: I give and bequeath to my sister, Fannie D. Haigler, the bureau known as my mother's. Item: The residue and remainder of my Estate, both real and personal, I give and devise and bequeath to my brothers and sisters, and to the children of my deceased brother, Capus, to be shared and divided among them as follows, to-wit: To my brother and sisters of the whole bold, share and share alike, the said children of my deceased brother taking the share of their father as he would take if living and to my brother of the half-blood, one-half share, or half the value of a share given to each of my said brothers and sisters of the whole blood as aforesaid. I make, constitute and appoint my brother, Josiah P. Haigler and my friend, Girard Cook, my Executors of this my said last will and testament and I authorize and empower them to perform the duties of such Executors without giving bond required by law in such cases, and it is my will that they be exempted from making any such bond as said Executors. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my had and seal. John F. Haigler (Seal) We, the undersigned witnessed the execution of the foregoing last will in the presence of the Testator and sign our name as such witnesses Thomas S. Mathews J. M. Hamilton State of Alabama, Lowndes County I, Hugh W. Caffey, Judge of Probate in and for said County, hereby certify that the within will of John S. Haigler, dec'd, has been duly probated and proven as such and submitted to probate on to-wit: the 2nd day of April, 1883, and the within will and testimony of the witnesses have been recorded in Will Book C, pages 254 in the Probate Court of this County.
