Listed is James S. Adams and Ann Teat. After going over the marriage records page by page, this is an error. No such record exists. James married Emaline A. Ernest, daughter of George and Sarah (Dennis??) Ernest on Nov. 4, 1846, marriage book 1, page 525, married by A. M. Simmons, JP. This date matches the date in Mrs. Russell's book. She gave the bride's name in error. NOTES: James S. Adams was the son of Vincent Adams and Rebecca Norred Adams. He was born Dec. 25, 1823, died Dec. 5, 1870, and was buried in the Hopewell Cemetery, Lowndes County. Emaline A. Ernest Adams, daughter of George and Sarah Ernest, was born Nov. 28, 1828 and died June 2, 1905. She is buried next to James in the Hopewell cemetery. From cemetery, census and James' estate records, they had the following children: George, James W., Sarah F., Josephine V., William Lawrence, Thomas Martin, Mary J., Louisa Laura, and Sidney J. who was less than two when James died. George was only in the 1850 census and James W. died in 1868 and is buried by James S. and Emaline Adams in Hopewell Cemetery. The rest of the children are named in James estate papers. Vincent Adams, who was a witness to this will was most likely James' brother as their father, Vincent, died Aug. 10, 1842 and was buried in the Mt. Willing Cemetery, Mt.
