First: I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law Buford Goggans and Daniel J. Stough my son-in-law the following described property to be equally divided after my death, to-wit: One sorrel mare with her increase and also all my stock I am posessed with at my death and also three feather beds with the bed clothing and bedsteads, and also three pots, one oven and one spider and also all my plantation tools, said property after my death to be sold and publick outcry to the highest bidder, and the proceeds to be equally divided between the said Bhuford Goggans and Daniel J. Stough, and I also give and bequeath unto my sons-in-law Bhuford Goggans and Daniel J. Stough, all property, real or personal, that may come to me by heir ship or otherwise, before or after my death with the exception of Five Dollars, I give and bequeath unto my son, William D. Cox, and I also give and bequeath unto the heirs of my daughter, Martha Ann Jemina Stough, wife of Andrew Stough, but now deceased, Five Dollars. Second, I nominate and appoint Bhuford M. Goggans and Daniel J. Stough, my sons-in-law, to execute this my last Will. In witness whereof I, Pleasant Cox, have hereunto set my had and seal this June 30th, 1862. Pleasant Cox, her mark Signed, sealed in the presence of Attest: W. E. A. McQueen Simeon Stough (his mark) The State of Alabama, Lowndes County. Probate Court. Before me, James E. Graham, Judge of the Probate Court of said county, personally appeared Simeon Stough who having been by me duly sworn, does and doth depose and say on the oath that he and W. E. A. McQueen are each subscribing witnesses to the instrument of writing now showed to him and which purports to be the last Will and Testament of Pleasant Cox, deceased, late an inhabitant of this County, the same bears date and declared the same to be his last Will and Testament, and that affiant set his signature thereto, and that said W. E. A. McQueen set his signature thereto both as subscribing witnesses to the same in the presence of said Testator, that said Testator was of sound mind and disposing memory, and in the opinion of deponent, fully capable of making his Will at the time the same was so made as aforesaid. Affiant further states that said Testator was on the day of the date of said Will of the full age of twenty-one years and upwards.
