It is my will, after my death, that my body be decently buried without any unnecessary expense or display or show. I wish and desire as sooh (soon) as can be conveniently done after my death, to pay all of my just claims or debts against my Estate by my Executor. I will and desire first, after my just debts are paid, there shall be paid to each of my daughters, E. B. Gresham and M. E. Gresham, Six hundred and sixty six dollars, amounts due them, received by me, for them from Life Insurance policy on the life of their Brother O. J. Gresham, deceased, said amounts paid without ______. I will and bequeath all of my property, of every description, real, personal and mixed, to be equally divided after paying amounts specified in paragraph 3 above between my children, James R., E. Brownie, & Mary E. Gresham, each to share alike in equal parts, to them and to each of them to be their own sole and separate property and the property and increase thereof to be their own, and for their private use & benefit subject to the separate control and management and in case of the marriage of my daughters or either of them, it is my will and testament that the above property or ______ received from my estate shall be their sole and separate property, and the profits and income thereof, shall be for their own special use, benefit and control for the control or claims of their - and for the purpose of executing this my last will and wishes. I hereby nominate and appoint my three children, James R., E. Brownie and Mary E. Gresham, as my Executors, that they be not required to give security or their Executor's or Executrix's bond. Whetstone The foregoing is a correct copy of the original instrument filed for record 22nd Jany 1888. A. E. Caffey, Judge of Probate B. State of Alabama } Before me, A. E. Caffey, Lowndes County } Judge of Probate Court, personally appeared in open Court, A. L. Whetstone and Clarence Douglas, of this County, are both subscribing witnesses to the instrument of writing just shown to A. L. Whetstone, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Shemie Gresham, dec'd, late of this County; that said Shemie Gresham signed and executed said instrument on the day the same bears date, and declared the same to be his last will and Testament, and in the presence of A. L. Whetstone and C. Douglas; and that the said A. L. Whetstone and C. Douglas subscribed to the said instrument as witnesses, their signatures of Shemie Gresham in the presence of said Gresham, and in the presence of each other and at the request of said Gresham, Testator, that said Gresham was of sound mind and disposing memory, and in the opinion of affiant, full, capable of making his said last Will and Testament, and was of the full age of twenty-one years and upwards. Caffey, Judge of the Probate Court for Lowndes County } said County, do hereby certify that the forgoing Instrument of writing has this day in Probate Court before me as Judge, thereof, been duly and properly probated under the Law, as the last will and Testament of Shemie Gresham, dec'd, and that said will and the proof thereof, has been proved and recorded in my office in Book C of Wills, on pages 286-297 In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 6th day of Feby, 1888.
