I William Champion of the State and County aforesaid, of sound mind and knowing that I must one day depart this life and testify before I go, have to distribute that property that God has helped me with in the way as to me seems right. The following is my last will and testament which I make and ordain and by these presents revoke all others made by me previous to this date of August 23rd 1858. First; I want my body buried in a decent manner. Second: I wish all my just debts paid as there is no cause why they should not be paid. I wish the balance of my effects to be distributed as follows, to wit: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Causadia Champion my portion in life all that tract of land which I now live on with all that appertains thereto with the exception of a portion of the cleared land which I reserve to my son, Henry Champion as much as he can cultivate. The amount and part of said land to be designated by my Executor and I also give and bequeath unto said wife my negro man named Gave and also all of my stock of hogs, horses and cattle in fact, all my stock of all kinds, also all my household and kitchen furniture with the exception of one horse, bridle and saddle I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Sarah Ann Champion and also one bed and furniture and also what money and notes I have on hand after my debts are paid with the exception of Seven Hundred dollars, the balance for the use of the family. The foregoing described property which I give and bequeath unto my wife, she is to hold and enjoy the same during her natural life or during her widowhood, and after the death of my wife, or ceases to be my widow, I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Sarah Ann Champion, the foregoing named negro man named Gabe and I also give and bequeath unto my son, Henry Champion and my daughter Sarah Ann Champion after the death of said wife or she ceases to be my widow, equally the property named land and stock, household and kitchen furniture. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter, Delia Penton five dollars and I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Terrisa Penton five dollars and I also give and bequeath unto the heirs of my son, William Champion, dec'd, five dollars. I also give and bequeath unto my granddaughter, Mary Cathran, five dollars; I also ordain and appoint Elijah M. Corxten my true and faithful Executor to execute this my last Will and testament.
