Weaver was the eldest son and the oldest of 10 children. He was born in North Carolina per the census record for 1850 and 1860. He was age 6 in 1850 and age 17 in 1860. He moved with his family to Georgia. He lived with his parents and siblings in Marion County, Georgia near Buena Vista in 1850. His father and uncle worked in Talbot County during the construction of the courthouse in Talbotton. They were both carpenters. Larkin Weaver,father of Henry, moved his family to Russell County, Alabama after 1850. Henry was living with his family in Beat 10 and Opelika Post Office in Russell County, Alabama in 1860. When war came Henry enlisted March 21st 1862 in Company D of the 46th Alabama Infantry in Macon County. He was captured with the fall of Vicksburg July 1863. His father was in the 37th Alabama Infantry. Their regiments were part of the garrison at Vicksburg. He and his father were paroled and exchanged and sent to Demopolis. Henry died on the 6th of Sept 1863. The circumstances of his death are not certain. Other evidence seems to indicate that he died at home. His father applied for the pay due to his deceased son. Larkin Weaver survived the war and moved his family to Macon County.
