Enlisted May 5, 1862 at Montgomery by M. L. Woods. Mustered into service at
Loachapoka on May 9, 1862. Commissioned an officer June 17, 1862 and resigned his
commission February 11, 1863. Resigned and furnished substitute at Vicksburg,
Resident in Montgomery, Al.,  Commission expired at Vicksburg, Mississippi due to
Resignation, Enlisted by Appointment

Spinks, John                Captain
Enlisted May 5, 1862 in Macon County by M. L. Woods for three years or the war.
Mustered in as a 1st Lieutenant at Loachapoka on May 9, 1862. Date of Commission to
Captain dated August 13, 1862. Captured at the capitulation of Vicksburg July 4,
1863 and paroled six days later. Furloughed about July 22, 1863 at Enterprise,
Mississippi. Reported absent from duty due to illness in July and August of 1864.


Frazer, Sidney T            Lieutenant 
Enlisted at Norfolk, Virginia in June 1861 in Company C, 3rd Alabama Infantry and
discharged three months later. Re-enlisted May 5, 1862 in Macon County by M. L.
Woods. Commissioned as a 2nd Lt. on May 5, 1862. Mustered in at Loachapoka May 9th.
Captured at Vicksburg July 4, 1863. Furloughed about July 22, 1863 at Enterprise,
Mississippi. Captured near Nashville December 16, 1864 and sent to Johnson's Island,
Ohio. Signed oath of allegiance on June 16, 1865. Filed for pension in Bullock
County in 1907
Born in Putnam County, Georgia on July 3, 1836. Died in Bullock County, Alabama on
November 13, 1921. Buried Oak Hill Cemetery, Union Springs, Bullock County, Alabama.

Enlisted as a private May 5, 1862 in Macon County by M. L. Woods. Mustered in May
9th at Loachapoka. Elected Lieutenant January 27, 1863. Due for clothing $8.00
Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant January 28, 1863. Captured at Vicksburg July 4 and
paroled July 10, 1863. Furloughed about July 22, 1863 at Enterprise, Mississippi.
Granted a 24 day leave of absence January 1, 1865. Buried in the Texas State
Cemetery, Confederate Field, Section 3, Row J, Number 25, Austin, Texas. 
 

Condon, Charles D.           2nd Lieutenant 
Signed by M. L. Woods on May 5, 1862 in Dadeville Tallapoosa County. Mustered in on
May 9, 1862 at Loachapoka. Captured at Battle of Baker's Creek, Mississippi May 16,
1863 and held as a prisoner of war at Fort Delaware and Point Lookout. Took oath of
allegiance and released June 12, 1865. Dark complexion, dark hair, gray eyes, 5'-8"
tall, widow filed for pension in Tallapoosa County 

Knowles, James M             Sergeant 
Enlisted May 5, 1862 in Macon County by M. L. Woods. Mustered in May 9th at
Loachapoka. Wounded at Bakers Creek (Champion Hill), Mississippi May 16, 1863. Taken
prisoner at the surrender of Vicksburg July 4, 1863, he was paroled July 10th.
Furloughed about July 22, 1863 at Enterprise, Mississippi. August 31, 1863 Detached
as Waggoner 40 days. Appears on a Receipt Roll for clothing 2nd Quarter 1864.

sent to Military Prison, Alton, Illinois, and exchanged.

four days later. Reported missing at Baker's Creek May 16, 1863. Transferred to Co.
E of the 34th Alabama Infantry in January 1864.

the amount of $42.85. Died in hospital. Nancy Argo of Tuskegee his widow filed for
settlement on October 6, 1864.

Loachapoka on the 9th. Listed as a Doctor. Captured July 4, 1863 at Vicksburg.
Attached to St. Mary's Hospital, West Point, Mississippi from March 31 to December
31, 1864 as a nurse. Commutation due for 2nd year $134.16. Sent to General Hospital
January 4, 1862 by Regimental Surgeon.

Loachapoka. Detached to drive Regimental wagon August 17, 1862. Captured at Port
Gibson, Mississippi on May 2, 1863 and exchanged June 12, 1863. Held at Military
Prison, Alton, Illinois. Granted 60-day furlough for wounds to face. On a Register
of Patients in Okmulgee Hospital, Macon, Georgia for a fracture of the bone in front
of the ear - simple surgery. Admitted September 8, 1864 and furloughed September 13,
1864. Appears on Register for Way Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi on January 7, 1865
with diarrhea. Reported wounded January 17, 1865. Again reported wounded March 25,
1865 and furloughed. Appears on Register for Way Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi as
admitted on May 21, 1865 with wound. Furloughed.

at Loachapoka. Absent without leave from November 24th until present time. Stoppage
from September St. until November 9th for absence without leave enlisted by Captain
Baggett. Captured at Vicksburg July 4, 1863. Deserted at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee
November 24, 1863. Captured November 26, 1863 at Chattanooga, Tennessee and sent to
Rock Island Barracks, Illinois. Died there March 28, 1864, buried in grave #940.

Plains, Tennessee on September 16, 1862 without participating in any engagements. At
his death he had $71.26 due him. Born in Harris County, Georgia.

Battle of Port Gibson, Mississippi (part of lower fibula damaged, weakening limb so
"progression is impossible without the aid of crutches." Description: 38 years of
age, 5'-8" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, dark hair. Occupation: farmer.

Hospitalized July 15, 1864 with a gunshot wound to the left hand. Admitted to St.
Mary's Hospital, Union Springs Alabama on September 15, 1864 and transferred
November 6, 1864. 

Haiston, William C.
Enlisted May 5, 1862 by M. L. Woods in Macon County, Alabama. Mustered in May 9,
1862 at Loachapoka, Alabama. In Jacksons Cavalry at last account. Was missing May
16, 1863. Appears on a Receipt Roll for clothing 2nd Quarter 1864. Commutation due
for 2nd year $134.16. With General S. D. Lee in Mississippi since fall of Vicksburg.
Received a letter from Commander of Lee's Escort stating the above. Have ordered him
in. Died after 1907, Widow filed for pension in Tallapoosa County

Douglas June 20, 1865. 

Watkins, Edmond 
Enlisted May 5, 1862 by M. L. Woods in Macon County Alabama for three years or the
war. Mustered in May 9, 1862 at Loachapoka, Alabama. Surrendered with his Company
July 4, 1863 at the fall of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Paroled July 10th. Appears on a
Receipt Roll for Clothing 2nd Quarter 1864. Admitted to St. Mary's Hospital, La
Grange Georgia with a wound on August 9, 1864. Subsequently died. Reuben Watkins,
his father, filed for settlement on November 30, 1864.

in Mississippi. Louisiana Whitten, his widow, filed for settlement of $81.10 on
April 20, 1864. [Husband of Louisiana Fields, buried at Bethel Cemetery Buff Springs
Clay County]

Wiggins, William

war. Died August 13, 1862 at University Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee leaving
sundries. Succumbed to diarrhea. His widow, Martha M. Wiggins, filed for settlement
December 14, 1863. $66.43 due for her husband's services. He died leaving two young
children. Born in Stewart County, Georgia

Hospital Muster Roll of French's Division Hospital, Enterprise, Mississippi for
February 28 through June 30, 1863. 

Wingate, Calvin
Enlisted May 5, 1862 in Macon County Alabama by M. L. Woods for three years or the
war. Mustered in May 9, 1862 at Loachapoka. Paid $88.00 on September 16, 1863 for
service from January 1 to August 31, 1863. Detailed to duty at Atlanta, Georgia
Arsenal as carpenter and carriage builder from September 1863 into 1864. Moved to
Texas after the war.
