Thomas G. Rochell
To & Bond
Joshua L. Martin
Govenor S. C.

Know all men that  Thomas G. Rochelle, Bryan L. Hammons and
Thomas McMurphy of the County of Madison in the state of Alabama,
all held and bound unto Joshua L. Martin Garrison of said state
and his superior in Office in the penalsauss of one thousand
dollars, further payment  of which we and each of us fixed
instances,our firm afection(?) and decisive trust is jointly,
finally(?), and firmly by these present witnesses of our hand and
seals this 3rd day of May one thousand and eight hundred forty-
seven. The condition of the above obligation is such that when
the above bound Thomas G.Rochelle was on the first day of March
1847 elected Constable in Captain Ganetts Beat by the electors of
said Beat, now if the said above bound Thomas G. Rochelle shall
well and truly discharge all the duties appertaining to said
office pay over all finances collected by him in values thereof
to the persons entilles thereto, to the persons entitled
thereto, and in all things demean himself as an officer of the
peace,then the above obligation should be void, otherwise to be
and remain in full force and virtue.
