Mr. Alonzo S. Elliott and wife (nee Taylor, of Birmingham, married about two months ago), on their way back from Louisville, Ky., to Birmingham, their home, are sojourning a few days with his mother and receiving congratulations from many of his old friends. Magrane Coxe, now a New York lawyer, is visiting his old home in our city. An amateur vocalist, with a deep-toned, mellow voice, he enjoys the distinction of chief basso in the Mendelssohn Club of New York, and has contributed much pleasure to musical aesthetes, here, by his singing. We are glad to see Tom McAllister, telegraph operator, on the street again, after his sickness. His first substitute, Miss Parks, is succeeded by a Miss McAllister, no relation of his, from the North. Singular coincidence. We are pleased to hear of the convalescence of Jas. H. Mastin, Jr., Prof. Bristol, Mr. Blakemore, and young Henry C. Speak, from typhoid fever. We have made the agreeable acquaintance of a Mr. Wilson, as one of the great cattle merchants of Colorado, who is here on a general exploration of the South. Our exceedingly clever young friend, James R. Boyd, has been appointed Messenger for the National Bank of Huntsville, to attend to city collections and other outside business. Capt. Curry and family have moved from the country to the LeVert house, at the corner of Washington and Meridian streets. We cordially welcome them to our city. MARRIED STEWART - SANDERS. - At the residence of the bride’s father, Rev. C. B. Sanders, near Paul’s Chapel, Madison County, Ala., Jan. 18, 1882, by Rev. J. A. B. Lovett, JOHN B. STEWART, of Maysville, Ala., to MISS ALICE B. SANDERS. The young couple have our hearty wishes for a safe journey over the untried sea of matrimony, and may the richest and rarest benedictions attend them all along their voyage of life! DEATHS DIED - At Gurleysville, Ala., Jan 22, 1882, George A., infant son of George and Emma Lumsden. “It sparkled, exhaled, then went to Heaven.” Sad Death The sad news was received here, today, of the death of Miss Mollie Ronayne, daughter of Dr. Justin Ronayne, of this city, which occurred in Mobile yesterday or to-day. Her remains are expected here, to-morrow morning, for interment. LEGAL NOTICES Administrator’s Notice ---------- LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION on the estate of Mary D.
