DEATH OF MRS. MARY N. BETTS, WIDOW OF MR. ELISHA F. BETTS
The friends of Mrs. Mary N. Betts, in this County, will regret to hear of her 
death which occurred on August 14th, in Columbus, Miss., at the home of her 
son, Mr. Robert C. Betts.  Mrs. Betts was Miss Mary N. Moffet.  She was born 
in Charleston, S. C., Sept. 9, 1829, and was married on April 17th, 1850, to 
Mr. Elisha F. Betts, and lived in Madison County until 1895, when she removed 
to Madison [sic: Lowndes] County to reside with her son, who is the last of 
that branch of the Betts family.  Our sympathy is extended to him in his 
bereavement.
