The Huntsville Weekly Democrat, 12 March 1884
  Mr. JAMES B. ELLIS, of Madison X Roads, died of a complication of chronic 
diseases, in Huntsville, Ala., March 6, 1884, aged 62 years.
  Mr. Ellis was a native of this county.  We have known him for 30 or 40 years 
and never heard anything but good of him.  We have always regarded him as one 
of our best citizens, socially, politically, morally and religiously.  He was 
an honest, true-hearted Christian in the Methodist Church, South.  His remains 
were borne home for burial.
