HAZEL DIES OF LONG ILLNESS --------------------- Devoted Wife And Mother Passed Away Sunday At Home Of Daughter --------------------- Having for seventy four years successfully played the part of loving mother, devoted wife and true friend, Mrs. Mary E. Hazel passed away Sunday morning at 6 o’clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E. S. McRee, East Holmes street. A Practitioner of the Christian Science society, Mrs. Hazel had a large number of friends who will be grieved to learn of her death. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence of Mrs. McRee, the First Reader of the Christian Science Society officiating with interment in Maple Hill cemetery with Laughlin and Wood in charge of arrangements. Surviving are a son, Bland of this city, three daughters, Mrs. E. S. McRee, Mrs. Clara Holder and Mrs. Edwin Hall of this city and a brother, C. C. Freeman of Little Rock, Ark. The following friends served as pallbearers: H. C. Blake, J. E. Pierce, D. C. Monroe, Charles Crute, Walter Humphrey, Amos Armstrong and Ashford Todd.
