Poplar Ridge, Ala.
April 12th, 1886

With sorrow we announce the death of Mr. W.P. Lusk, which sad event took place 
this morning at one o'clock.

Mr. Lusk was one of our best citizens a kind hearted Christian gentleman, 
honest in all of his dealings, charitable to the poor, generous even to a 
fault, and beloved by all who knew him.  He leaves a large family to mourn 
their loss to whom we extend condolences in this sad hour of their bereavement.

The funeral will take place this evening at the Bethel Cemetery, where he will 
be laid beside his sweet little daughter, Lucie, who died a few months [sic 
years] ago.  Peace to his ashes!

Additional Comments:
Warren Parker Lusk was born on February 18, 1840, in Chambers County, 
Alabama.  He was the son of Robert Marvin Lusk and Elizabeth Parker.  He 
married Martha Ellie "Mattie" Lusk on August 7, 1860, in Madison County, 
Alabama.
