She was in her 80th year, and was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Fearn. She was married to the late Mr. Gus L. Mastin December 1847, and has survived him for 21 years. Mrs. Mastin was a woman of unusually strong character, bright intellect and executive ability in the management of her home. She was a comfort and stay to her husband a loving companion and wise advisor to her children and ever loyal and true as a friend. Her high-toned principles and dignity demanded respect, and her generous hospitality and kindly manner was the love of many warm friends. Three sons and a daughter survive her and rise up and call her blessed.
