Mrs. Maria L. Rison, the beloved wife of Mr. Wm. R. Rison, of this city, died 
on Monte Sano Aug. 14th, after a short illness.  Although she had been in 
feeble health for some time, the news of her death was a great shock to our 
citizens, and all join in deep and sincere expressions of sympathy for each 
member of her bereaved family, especially her husband, who will sadly miss her 
fond and loving ministrations. Mrs. Rison was a member of the Methodist 
Church, and was always prominent in church matters, carrying her religion in 
her daily life, doing good works and charitable acts to the poor and needy.  
She was ever a devoted and loving mother, a kind and affectionate wife, and 
loyal friend.   She was 61 years old, and died with the blessed hope of the 
Christian.  Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church, in this 
city, by Reverends J. M. McCoy and L. C. Branscomb, Saturday afternoon.  The 
large congregation and beautiful floral tributes testifying the esteem in 
which she was held by all in this community.
