Mr. Roden was a prosperous farmer of this county and possessed a large number of friends who will regret to learn of his death. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence, the Rev. A. L. Bates officiating with interment in Maple Hill cemetery. Laughlin and Wood will be in charge of arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Roden, three sons, John, Route No. 5, Elbert and Sid of this city, four daughters, Mrs. Belle Smithey, New Market, Mrs. J. M. Mullins, and Mrs. Irene Mullins of this city and Mrs. Edna Hughes of the Big Cove; also four brothers, Luther, Columbus, Bob Route No. 5, Lonnie of Chattanooga and a sister, Mrs. Alice Fleming of Loretta, Tenn.
