	A Good Woman Gone
	-------
  Mrs. E. J. Sanford died at her residence in this place last Thursday morning 
after a very short illness.  She was sixty-three years of age and leaves four 
sons and one daughter to mourn her loss beside several brothers and sisters.  
Mrs. Sanford was a kind, loving mother and had many friends in Gurley who will 
miss her from their midst.  She was a devoted Christian woman and had been a 
member of the Cumberland church for many years.  Her remains were taken to 
Huntsville Friday and interred in the cemetery at that place at 3 o’clock p.m., 
in the present of a large crowd of friends and relatives.  Rev. J. F. Crawford, 
of Huntsville conducted the funeral services.  
  In common with their many friends we extend to the bereaved ones our sincere 
sympathies in this their sad hour of bereavement.
