The Huntsville Weekly Democrat, 21 November 1883
CALDWELL—BARNARD—J. W. CALDWELL, Esq., of Knoxville, Tenn., and Miss KATIE M. 
BARNARD, were married by the Rev. Dr. Banister at the Church of the Nativity, 
Huntsville, Ala., Nov. 20, 1883.
The ceremony was performed at 11 a.m., a reception was given a few friends at 
the residence of Col. R. B. Rhett (the bride’s stepfather), at 12 m., and the 
happy couple left on the afternoon train for Knoxville.  The bridegroom is a 
leading young lawyer of high character, the bride beloved for her many 
estimable qualities of head and heart. May their married life be replete with 
blessings!
