LANIER – JOHNSON – On Thursday Sept. 15, 1881, at 5 o’clock p.m., at the 
residence of the bride’s mother in Huntsville, Ala., by the Rev. W. C. Hearn, 
Mr. John F. Lanier, of Madison Co., Ala., to Miss Ada E. Johnson, daughter of 
Mrs. E. K. Johnson.
  The Huntsville public were greatly surprised that Miss Ada, whose heart and 
hand had been sought by so many suitors, had, at last, been bestowed on Mr. 
Lanier, without any but a few friends, who were present at the nuptials, being 
aware of it till the marriage ceremony had been performed.  The young couple 
have our warmest wishes for their happiness and prosperity.
