L. Russell, and Vernon Fisher Hutchens, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Hutchens of this city. The wedding took place at the Russell home on Walker street this afternoon at three o’clock. While no announcement of the wedding plans have been made intimate friends and relatives of the two families witnessed the pretty and impressive ceremony performed by Rev. Dr. W. G. Henry, pastor of the First Methodist church. The ceremony was spoken before an improvised altar of palms and ferns intermingled with chrysanthemums. The bridal party attended by the sister, Miss Sadie Russel and B. F. Monroe entered the parlors and the sweet simplicity of the ceremony was emphasized by the absence of music. Wearing a raindeer colored coat-suit trimmed in mole fur and hat to match trimmed in birds of paradise and carrying a shower of bride’s roses, the bride who is one of Huntsville’s most beautiful girls made a picture of rare loveliness. Miss Sadie Russell, the only bride’s maid wore a charming creation of black velvet with silver toned picture hat and carried a shear of cream chrysanthemums. The proud groom wore a conventional black and never looked handsomer than on this occasion. He is a member of the Hutchen’s Company and is regarded as one of the coming young business men of our community already shouldering responsibilities equal to those carried by men of mature age. The young couple received a number of beautiful and useful wedding presents. Immediately after the informal reception which followed the ceremony, the happy couple left on a brief honeymoon for St. Louis and other points of interest. Returning in a few days, Mr. and Mrs. Hutchens will go to housekeeping in the Graham apartments on Randolph street where they will welcome their friends.
