In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Leemon of the County of Madison and State of Alabama being of sound mind & disposing memory, but weak in body, do make this my last will & Testament, in manner following.-- Namely, 1st To my sister Catherine Leemon. I give & bequeathe during her natural life, The whole of my estate, subject however to the expense of schooling, boarding, & clothing the following named Boys, namely, Reuben Ransom, Joseph Ransom, Richmond Ransom & my nephew Henry Wilkes, during the present year -- 2nd After my death, as soon as possible, ? the whole of my perishable property, excepting what my before said sister Catherine Leemon may wish to be reserved from sale to be put up at public sale to the highest bidder on a credit of twelve months - 3rd It is my will that the whole of my ? land shou'd be rented our until Jany 1843, at the expiration of which time, I wish the whole of my Lands put up at public slae to the highest bidder in separate tracts in three payments. One third in cash, the balance in two equal numerical instalments. ~ 4th - All debts due me I wish collected & ? out on interest for the benefit & use if my before named sister Catherine Leemon, as she may need it until her death. The whole of my property consisting of what it may, I wish to deed in six shares: To Reuben Ransom: I give & bequeathe one share & a half: To Joseph Ransom, one share: To James R. Wilkes, my nepherw, one share: To Henry Wilkes my nephew two shares: & to Richmond Ransom, one half share. 5th I nominate & appoint my Friend Jno. B.
