THE LINDEN REPORTER, (Linden, Alabama), January 1, 1892, p. 3
Died, at Linden, on Monday morning, December 21, 1891, Jimmie Perkins, of 
McKinley, aged about 19 years. He had been sick since the first of October, at 
the Hill, 8 miles South of Linden, first with typhoid fever and then 
pneumonia, and his constant cry was to be carried home. His father, yielding 
at last to his entreaties, brought him as far as Linden Sunday evening, and 
during the night he passed away almost without a struggle. His remains were 
carried to McKinley for interment. The funeral services were conducted by Eld. 
I. A. White. The Reporter tenders its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved 
parents in the loss of their oldest boy."
