Estes ================================================================================= March 2004 Unknown Cemetery, Marion County, Alabama, Near Brilliant Directions: From downtown Winfield (Downtown Traffic Light) take Highway 78 East 2 miles and turn left onto Highway 129 North go 6.4 miles and turn right onto an unmarked gravel road. Then go about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and the cemetery is located about 100 yards from the end of the gravel road. The road is drivable in dry weather otherwise you will need an off road vehicle. NOTE: 20 Unmarked grave sites here, however there could be more. When we surveyed this cemetery, we found several graves that were sunken in at least 1 to 2 ft. these graves did not have headstones around them. However, I counted all rocks that appeared to be grave markers as well as the sunken graves. Surveyed by David L. Estes and Michelle Estes, Saturday, June 2nd, 2001.
