From Detroit:
We are very sorry to learn of the suicide of an old friend and school mate, WM. 
DUKE, Jr. who was found on the 6th inst. by the roadside, near Shreveport, La. 
with his throat cut.  He did it with a razor and no cause can be assigned for 
the rash act, but it is some relief to know he was not poverty stricken as he 
had money on his person and in bank at Ft. Worth, Texas, to the amount of 
$700.  We extend to his aged parents and relatives living near here our 
heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement.
