PIKEVILLE, ALA.
	This community has been saddened during the past week by the death of 
two of its citizens – Mrs. SALLIE STANFORD on Wednesday night and Mr. JAMES 
GANN on Thursday.  Mrs. STANFORD has been sick for several weeks, and was 
thought to be recovering when, on Friday before her death, she suddenly took a 
turn for the worse, and the most unremitting care and the best medical 
treatment available could not save her.  Mr. GANN was very old, and his death 
was but the ending of a long and useful life, during which it is unlikely that 
he ever intentionally injured any one.
