ROBERT HUGHES, an old and estimable citizen, ex-Sheriff of Marion County, died 
at his residence, seven miles south of this place, on July 31st, 1895.  Mr. 
HUGHES has been afflicted with a cancer for some time which had become very 
painful, but the immediate cause of his death was inflammation of the brain.  
He leaves a wife, son and two daughters, to mourn his demise, to whom we extend 
condolence and sympathy.
