H. W. MATTHEWS, father of Judge W. H. MATTHEWS of Guin died near Itasca, Tex. 
on October 1, 1895.  Mr. MATTHEWS was a citizen of this county for many years, 
and has many friends here who will morn his demise.  He was very highly 
respected by this people as an evidence of which he held official station by 
their voluntary suffrage.  Judge MATTHEWS’ many friends heartily sympathize 
with him in his irreparable loss.
