The Guin Dispatch (Marion County, AL) Feb. 23, 1889

We regret very much to have to head our locals this week with the death of a 
promising young man named GEORGE MAYS.  Mr. Mays resided on Woods Creek, about 
five miles from town, and was admired and respected by all who knew him.  He 
died of pneumonia, of which there is a great deal in the neighborhood.  We 
extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy as their loss is his 
eternal gain.
